Is your Home IP Address Blocked?? You can stay on your home network and fix this!! This section describes how.

You've been blocked by Ticketmaster as a bot, but you're just a person desperate for tickets. Now what? Well, Ticketmaster has their own boiler plate information that might work seen in these photos:

Ticketmaster Advice Summary

  • Clear browser history

  • Clear cached data

  • Clear cookies

  • Try incognito mode

  • Use cellular instead of WiFi or Ethernet

  • Turn off your VPN if using one

My Advice

There are two types of blocks that I know of: IP address blocks, and account blocks. They are described below with suggestions for solutions. Sometimes refreshing the bot error screen or using Ticketmaster’s suggestions will remove the error, but when they don’t, check out my suggestions.

IP Address Block

Affects everyone on your network.

Cloudflare Warp

Cloudflare Warp is a Virtual Private Network (VPN) service. By using Cloudflare's global network, Warp encrypts your internet traffic, making it difficult for anyone to intercept or track your online activities. It masks your IP address, ensuring your online identity remains anonymous.

Enabling it should clear the bot message.

To Use Cloudflare Warp:

1. Visit the Cloudflare Warp website: https://1.1.1.1/ on your web browser.

2. Download application: Choose the option you’re looking for (ex: windows or iPhone) Follow the on-screen instructions to download the Warp application. The website has further installation instructions available.

3. Launch Warp: Once installed, launch the Cloudflare Warp application. If on iPhone, enable from the app. It will run in the background, securing your internet connection automatically.

4. If you get blocked again, disconnect from Cloudflare Warp and reconnect to Cloudflare Warp.

Try a Different Network

If you're right in the middle of things, switch to cellular, a mobile hotspot, or a different WiFi/Internet network. If you were already on cellular, turn on airplane mode for a few moments, and then turn it off. You should get a new IP Address. if on cellular, last resort, drive or move into range of a different cell tower and it should reset you IP Address.

Release and Renew IP Address

If you have the time, RELEASE AND RENEW YOUR IP ADDRESS!! This will get you a new Home IP Address that shouldn't be blocked. It takes a few minutes for it to reset, so do not attempt right in the middle of a queue or ticket drops. This allows you to stay on your home network without moving to a new location.

For Everyone

  1. Check your IP Adress by googling "what's my IP".

  2. See Carnegie Mellon University's Instructions for how to renew & refresh

  3. Check your IP again and confirm that it is different

NOTE: You must be connected directly to your modem via Ethernet. Your modem is connected to your router, so you can use the modem Ethernet cable that is connected to your router.

NOTE: This should change your IP every time, but you do need to be somewhat tech savvy. So if it doesn't work the first time, try again and try to follow the steps exactly.

For people with a Netgear Router

If you have a Netgear router, there’s another way to get a new IP that is a lot easier.

  1. Sign in to your Netgear router using routerlogin.net and type in your username and password for your router

NOTE: If you haven’t set up a username and password, they should be:

user name: admin

password: password

  1. Navigate to the advanced menu up top

  2. Go to WAN port (may be called internet port) on the main page

  3. Select connection status

  4. Select release

  5. Wait a minute and select renew

  6. You are able to watch the IP Address change, and if it does not, try repeating the steps a few times.

Account Block

Affects your account on any network

Unfortunately I have not yet found a fix if your account itself is blocked. You could reach out to Ticketmaster, but it will take time. Best contact options are to send a DM to @TMFanSupport OR if you have any active tickets on Ticketmaster, you can use their chat feature.

You could make a new account, but you will need to have another phone number for verification, and it can't be a number from an option like Google Voice. Another option would be to use a friends account, but if you are required to verify via text for the queue, this will likely slow you down.

According to Ticketmaster, account blocks should lift after 24-48 hours.
